The Middle East Tango and Salsa Championship will take place in Dubai, during the 1st Dubai Tango and Salsa Congress, January 27th to 29th, 2011 at Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel.
The Middle East Dance Championship is the official qualification for the World Latin Dance Cup (USA, December 2011) and the World Tango Championship (Colombia June 2011).

RULES
TANGO - AMATEUR - STAGE STYLE
• Participation is for all nationalities
• At least one of the partners has to be amateur
• Tango professional is considered anyone
- Who has been a teacher at some point of time or has performed being paid. If you are a professional but in another genre, different than tango then you may apply to participate as tango amateur.
• Only three figures will be allowed [granted] where the woman or man [one who can] lift both feet from the ground simultaneously.
• The song must last a maximum of 3 minutes.
• No other effects or introductions of non-tango music are allowed. Mixes may take up to two different songs
• Introduction of elements from other dance styles are allowed within the choreography in order to enhance the routine while maintaining the essence of tango. It is a Tango championship not other genres.
• You are not allowed to change your partner once you started the competition.
TANGO PROFESSIONAL – STAGE STYLE
• In order to compete either both partners have to be from a Middle Eastern country or 1 from a Middle Eastern country and the other living for a period of year. [Resident]
• Only three figures will be allowed where the woman or man lift both feet from the ground simultaneously
• The song must last a maximum of 3 minutes.
• No other effects or introductions of non-Tango music. Mixes may take up to two different songs.
• Introduction of elements from other dance styles are allowed within the choreography in order to enhance the routine while maintaining the essence of tango. It is a Tango championship not other genre.
• You are not allowed to change your partner once you started the competition.

• The right to compete for air tickets to attend to the World Tango championship in Medellin 2011 if at least 20 couples are registered in the contest.

Second place
